Levis Corner House – Shared Island Project ” The Ties That Bind”
“Ballydehob music venue Levis’ and the Duncairn Arts Centre in Belfast are set to collaborate with their artistic and wider communities to establish a cross border artist’s network titled ‘The Ties that Bind’.
A partnership between two different venues, one at either end of the country, who have found each other through the many artists that have come through both our doors.
A partnership with two local councils, to collaborate and learn from the similarities in two community hubs for music and art, one in Belfast City & the other in Ballydehob a village in West Cork….
This is starting small but it is just the beginning…. outside of the positive socio economic benefits, the cultural benefits and mental health positives, this partnership intends to leave a legacy that will reverberate through our communities. Music & Art is the means to break down barriers and bring all our communities closer together.. it is the ray of hope for people in a country that has often forgotten its richest legacy on the world stage is not the economy or Ireland inc. but the arts and community.
