Artists Bios 

Ultan O’Brien is a fiddle player and composer from County Clare. Ultan, who plays in bands and duos with Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin, Slow Moving Clouds, John Francis Flynn, Skipper’s Alley and Nic Gareiss, is launching his début solo album– an album of old traditional Irish music and compositions for an alternatively-tuned alto fiddle, exploring the relationship between fiddle and percussive dance, on one hand, and diving into points of intersection of electroacoustic composition and traditional music on the other.

Ultan will be joined by harper Méabh McKenna. Méabh is a multi-instrumental sound artist based in Dublin city. Drawing on years of experimentation and collaboration, her live performances have evolved from traversing the eclectic worlds of traditional, classical, and early music, intuitively weaving them with contemporary and electronic elements.
