One of the most acclaimed voices in the extraordinary revival of traditional and folk music we have witnessed in recent years.” RTÉ Radio 1, Arena

One of Ireland’s most exciting artists” The Irish Times

Inni-K’s music draws on her extensive background in folk and traditional Irish music, even as she ventures into new musical territories. Her original songwriting (The Hare & the Line 2019 and The King has Two Horse’s Ears 2015), combines ethereal vocals with deft musicianship, evocative lyrics and a unique approach to song-writing. Inni-K’s highly celebrated third studio album Iníon, released in 2022 is a contemporary sean-nós album.

Described by The Irish Times as ‘a sparkling collection of songs that shimmer in the heat of Inni-K’s warm, unforced voice,’ and ‘an album of tremendous understatement, power and beauty’ by Folk Radio UK, Iníon has picked up such accolades as ‘Top of the World’ album by Songlines Magazine and was nominated for Best Folk Album in the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards 2022, with Éamonn an Chnoic, a track off the album being nominated for Best Traditional Folk Track.

As someone who’s collaborated with everyone from Liam Ó Maonlaí and Cormac Begley (in their band, Ré) to Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh, and shared a stage with Malian kora master, Toumani Diabaté, Inni-K (aka Eithne Ní Chatháin) is an artist who’s forged her own path on a foundation of sean-nós song, but with a clear sense of exploration of its outer reaches. Inni-K sets out to create a re-hearing, in a way, of something dear, something essential, and in doing so, she – with fellow collaborators on her album and in their captivating live performances, create a bold, new and contemporary experience of sean-nós song for her listener.
